WWE.com and various news sites are reporting that John Cena was injured during the Raw main event. He was flown to see Dr Andrews today and was diagnosed with a complete right pectoral tear. He's said to have been booked in for immediate surgery and will require an estimated 6 to 8 months of recovery time, meaning he's likely to miss even next year's WrestleMania.

He's forfeited the championship and a new champ will be decided on Sunday at No Mercy. Cena v Orton in a Last Man Standing match was to have been the main event.


Just when you think it can't get any worse for WWE. All I'm hoping is for heaven's sake don't put the belt back on Hunter. Give us a surprise.

Gutted, really gutted. Cena has been on fire this year, of all the injuries in 2007 this is by far the biggest blow.

I too hope they surprise us and push someone like Jeff Hardy up to the top.

I'd love to see a Jeff Hardy shock win, even if he only held it for a month or so. He's *super* over right now.

I just watched the Cena/Kennedy match back and you can clearly see where he's hurt, he basically did the second half of the match and the post-match bit with Orton with one arm, they reckon it started from the slightly botched armdrag. He looked legit in a lot of pain putting Kennedy in the STFU for the finish - he couldn't even get it on properly. I'm sure that's why Kennedy tapped out so quick.

WWE.com is saying he might be out 'up to one year', but I think that's in the absolute worst case and/or being over dramatic.

Hopefully they wont put the belt on Orton or Kennedy.

If they put rhe belt on either Kennedy or Orton, bearing in mind their current records, then it would be the biggest PR balls up for them. Wrestlers who have recently been suspended for taking steroids coming back to the main event spotlight would be a huge mistake.

I reckon they'll make Triple H Vs Umaga for the title. Trips to win.
